Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dentist in the category of independent Practice. A minimum of two (2) years clinical experience as a Dentist, excluding the mandatory Community Service year. Proof of successful completion of primary subjects in Anatomy, Physiology, and Applied Pathology, obtained within the last four years as per the University rules, is required for shortlisting.
Additional Considerations/Added Advantage:
A demonstrated interest in the disciplines of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, and Implantology is essential. Possession of additional accredited qualifications, such as an MSc or Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) relevant to the field, will be advantageous during the selection process.
Duties :

The successful candidate will undergo a structured course of study that, upon completion, will enable registration with the HPCSA as a Specialist in Oral Medicine and Periodontics. During training the successful candidate will be expected to provide high-quality clinical services to patients within the public healthcare system, under supervision, ensuring that service delivery standards are met in alignment with the Department commitment to accessible and effective healthcare. Responsibilities will include: Treating a diverse range of patients in the fields of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, and Implantology; Actively participating in journal clubs, seminars, and clinical presentations; Completing a research project as part of the academic and clinical training; Providing specialized clinical services under supervision; Engaging in the teaching and training of undergraduate students, as well as contributing to the department administrative functions and Extended Training Programme (ETP) activities.
