Requirements :

• BDS/ BChD degree with additional qualification of MChD/ MDENT in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology/ Oral Pathology. The candidate must be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Oral Pathologist with current proof of registration. A minimum of three (3) years of appropriate experience as an Oral Pathologist after registration is required. Proven experience in co-ordinating undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Proven research experience with at least three (3) publications. The candidate must currently be actively participating on the Oral and Maxillofacial histopathology clinical platform. FC Path (SA) qualification in Oral Pathology is highly recommended. PhD degree or current registration for the degree is a strong recommendation and interest in forensic dentistry will be added advantages . Fair Understanding of basic Human Resource, Finance legislation , regulations policies and frameworks. A valid driver’s license.

Duties :

• The successful candidate will be required to provide histopathology service rendering in the speciality of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology; teaching and training both undergraduate and postgraduate students and performing research. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the Head and Neck multidisciplinary team which includes performing intraoperative frozen sections. In addition, the candidate is expected to perform Forensic Odontology service rendering. Departmental duties will be assigned to the candidate. Manage human and financial resources , assets and materials .
