Requirements :

• Basic R425 qualification (Degree/Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery) equivalent qualifications that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. A minimum of 4 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. A Post Basic Nursing Qualification with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with SANC in Operating Theatre Nursing Science. Knowledge of Nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.

Duties :

• Perform a Clinical Nursing Practice in accordance with the scope of practice and Nursing Standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Execute duties and functions with proficiency within prescripts of applicable legislation. Provision of quality patient care through setting of standards, policies and procedures. Work as part of multidisciplinary team to ensure quality nursing care. Promote effective communication with patients. Supervisor and other clinician's including accurate report writing and patients advocacy. Manage effective utilization of human, financial and material resources. Be able to plan own work and that of the team to ensure proper patients care. Maintain professional growth/ ethical standards of self and the team. understanding and implementation of ideal hospital framework. Participate in educating and training of personnel and student nurses. Able to promote the rights of the patients, advocating and facilitating proper treatment and care of patients.
