Requirements :

  • Qualification as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant. Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Qualified Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant. Current registration with SAPC/ proof of payment. Good communication skills and computer literacy. Must have a drivers license. Flexibility to work in any facility in a sub-district within the west rand district.

Duties :

  • The incumbent will work under indirect supervision of a pharmacist within the scope of the following duties: Stock control which includes ordering, receiving, issuing of medication. Ensure proper storage of medication. Dispensing and pre-packing of medications to patients. Ensuring the checking of the authenticity and validity of the prescription and proper use of medication. Participating in Pharmacy education programmes. Ensure proper handling of thermo-labile medications. Support and implement all national programmes e.g. Stock visibility Solution (SVS) and Dablapmeds Ensure that medicine availability is reported on SVS. Networking with all relevant stakeholders. guidelines within the district health system. Ensure compliance to the departments Vision, mission and values.
