Requirements :

• Grade 12 plus an appropriate qualification that allows registration as an independent Practitioner. No experience required after registration as a Medical Registrar. Must have completed Post Community Service. Registration with HPCSA for the financial year 2025/26. The incumbent will be rotated between institutions. The following will be an added advantage: Work experience in the field of public health. The University of Pretoria will facilitate the completion of the MMed in Public Health Medicine.

Duties :

• The candidate will be expected to do all activities which relate to teaching, academics and research in Public Health Unit. The incumbent will be rotated at accredited training sites to gain practical exposure and work experience in Public Health Medicine over 4 Years. Rotations will be for 6 months at a registered site supervised by a public health medicine specialist. Sites registered for training include GDoH hospitals, District Health Services, The National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD), and the National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH). The candidate will also be expected to do all activities which relate to teaching, academics and research.

The performance of normal and commuted overtime is not mandatory, however it will be based on the operational needs of the hospitals .
