A recognized three or four-year qualification, which includes a professional teacher education plus 8 years’ experience in the educational field with credible, relevant management experience. Must be registered with SACE. Proven management and leadership skills, and project management as requirement. Understanding of Gauteng Provincial Government’s strategic vision, priorities and public service legislation. Sound knowledge and understanding of assessment policies and strategies geared to improve the Foundation Phase. Sound knowledge of project management and report writing form part of the required expertise. Good management and leadership skills. Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills. Computer literacy with an in-depth knowledge of SASAMS. Valid driver’s license.
Duties :
-
Managing the Assessment Systems and Development processes in the Foundation Phase. Develop, plans and develop guideline, procedures for supporting the SAT, DAT on all Assessment related matters in the schools. Provision of support, monitoring of Systemic Assessments such as ORF, ELNA, EGRA. Co-ordinate, monitor early identification of learners with barriers to learning. Coordinate the development of teachers on assessment practices of learners with barriers. Manage and co-ordinate the provision of appropriate learner assessment strategies in the Foundation Phase. Monitor and report promotion and progression data to ensure fair, credible, and valid resulting processes. Monitor and report policy compliance in the Foundation phase. Work closely with Early Childhood Development, Curriculum Coordination, Teacher Development, Inclusion and Special schools, to ensure multi-level and multi-functional assessment practices. Coordinate all assessment and curriculum skills development initiatives relevant to the Foundation Phase. Plan, Establish and maintain systems for supporting strategic planning in the Foundation Phase. Perform generic management duties. Assist the Directorate to report on key deliverables to all the relevant stakeholders.
