Requirements :

  • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as an Independent Medical Practitioner. Registered with the HPCSA as an Independent Medical Practitioner. Current HPCSA registration for March 2025. The following will be added advantages: work experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. CMSA FCOG part 1a (and 1b) examinations. Auxiliary courses relevant to the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. (example ACLS).

Duties :

  • Interview, investigate, diagnose and oversee the treatment of patient-related administrative duties, participate in all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research, participating in departmental audit activities, prepare and write reports, communication services and community liaison. Supervise junior doctors (undergraduate students and interns). Attend relevant administrative meetings like mortality meetings, near-miss meetings and completing Medico legal documents timeously (e.g. death certificate). Improve the quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care. Participate in a multidisciplinary team for the management of patients. Perform practical procedures relevant to the care of patients. Participate in departmental meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, lectures and ward rounds. Ensure effective administration and safe record keeping in the department. Willing to work longer hours (night, weekend and public holiday) to provide continuous uninterrupted care of patients.
