Requirements :

  • Grade 12 plus an appropriate the qualification that allows registration as an Independent Practitioner. No experience required after registration as a Medical Registrar. Must have completed Community Service. Registration with HPCSA for the financial year 2025/26. Registrars will be rotated between institutions. Excellent interpersonal skills .Computer Literacy. A valid driver’s license .The following will be an added advantage: Work experience in the field of Internal Medicine; CMSA part 1 examinations; auxiliary courses relevant to the field of Internal Medicine. Ability to initiate and conduct research.

Duties :

  • Render a full spectrum of Plastics, Hand unit and Burns unit inpatient and Outpatient services. Provide clinical guidance to designated clinic staff. Ability to lead standardization of care inspirational to the health care team. Lead a team of health care professionals with integrity and respect. Foster teamwork and collaboration among physicians. Perform department administrative duties. Initiate and participate in clinical research. Render after-hours clinical services. Participate in the training of interns, medical officers Engaging with surgical staff and management at cluster hospitals. Provision of a comprehensive clinical service for patients at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital; Provision of undergraduate and postgraduate medical student teaching. Coordinate logistics , obtain equipment and pharmaceuticals. Strengthen the regional and district health systems by providing outreach programmes for Plastics, Hand unit and Burns unit; Facilitate effective teaching and research as well as to enhance continuing professional development. Perform duties assigned by the Head of Department .Maintain quality assurance standards and other Departmental policies. Attend meetings and training as approved by HOU.
