Requirements :

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner and currently registered for (2024/2025) financial year. Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner. Having passed FCS Neurosurgery Primaries is an added advantage.

Duties :

• Medical Officers will inter alia be responsible for rendering services, assessment and treatment of patients, related administration and participating in all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching, participating in departmental audit activities, preparing and writing reports and community outreach. The incumbent will rotate through related departments at various hospitals, comprising hospitals served in their specific outreach programmes.
