Requirements :

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level. Basic qualification R425 (i.e Diploma/ Degree in Nursing ) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A minimum of 4 (Four) years appropriate \recognisable experience as Professional Nurse after registration with the SANC in General Nursing Strong leadership, good communication and sound interpersonal skills are necessary. Verified proof of experience.PN-B2 Grade 12,Basic qualification accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice 425 (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing)or equivalent qualification that allows registration, with the SANC as a Professional Nurse plus a post-basic nursing qualification, with duration of at least one year accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice No R 212 in the relevant Speciality. A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the 1 year post-basic qualification in the relevant Speciality.Post basic qualification in Nursing Education and Post Graduate Diploma in Midwifery or Child Nursing Science registered with SANC. Current Annual SANC certificate. Must be computer literate (MS Excel , MS Word , MS PowerPoint). A valid driver`s licence. Good communication skills and compassionate with teamwork. Report writing skills. Must have passion in training and education.

Duties :

  • Provision of optimal, holistic specialised nursing care with set standards and within a professional \legal framework. Effective utilisation of human, material and service resources. Participation in training and research. Provision of support to Nursing Services. Maintain professional growth \ethical standards and development of self and subordinates. Plan and facilitate a professional development program for maternity or paediatric department. Collaborate with NEIs to maintain accreditation of both institutions. Responsible for placement of students in collaboration with the NEIs. Execute and participate in the in-service training programme (formal and informal). Support , all categories of staff in the hospital. Monitoring and supervision of general nursing care during facilitation in wards. Relieving in patient care office according to the institutional needs.
