Requirements :

Grade 12 with a minimum of five ( 5 ) years' relevant experience in Health Promotion, or Wits Health Promotion Certificate(s), or a Diploma in Health Promotion from the University of Limpopo, or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Health Promotion, Public Health, Community Development or any NQF level 6 qualification. A valid South African driver's license is compulsory. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Sound knowledge of Primary Health Care, Health Promotion policies and strategies, community mobilisation and stakeholder engagement. Good report writing, presentation and communication skills. Supervisory experience will be an added advantage. OTHER SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must possess excellent leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills. Ability to coordinate and support Health Promoters and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and community stakeholders. Sound planning, organising, monitoring and evaluation skills. Ability to analyse information, compile reports and meet deadlines. Good conflict management, facilitation and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel extensively within the sub-district and to work after hours, weekends and public holidays when required. The successful candidate must be willing to be permanently based in Sub-District 1. Preference will be given to suitably qualified current Tshwane District Health Promoters, as this post is intended to provide a promotional opportunity within the Health Promotion programme.
Duties :
-
Coordinate, supervise and support the implementation of Health Promotion programmes within Sub-District 1. Supervise Health Promoters and provide mentoring, coaching and supportive supervision. Coordinate community mobilisation initiatives and health awareness campaigns in collaboration with health facilities, schools, municipalities, faith-based organisations, NGOs and community structures. Facilitate health promotion activities in line with National and Provincial priorities. Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports and monitor programme performance indicators. Coordinate implementation of commemorative health days, outreach services and community dialogues. Participate in outbreak response activities and public health emergency interventions. Conduct stakeholder engagement meetings and strengthen intersectoral collaboration. Manage leave administration, performance management and other labour-related matters relating to Health Promoters under supervision. Perform any other duties delegated by the Assistant Director: Health Promotion.
