Requirements :

  • Appropriate degree/diploma in Nursing or equivalent, 7 years recognisable service as a professional nurse. Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse (2026) Experience in a travel clinic environment or Travel Medicine certificate will be an added advantage. Must be willing to travel for campaigns within the districts, work irregular, and extended hours during diseases outbreaks. Valid driver’s licence and Computer literacy. Good knowledge of nursing legislation, ethical practices, and standards. In-depth knowledge of Travel vaccines, Malaria chemoprophylaxis, and knowledge of the malaria program and malaria elimination strategy 2028).Yellow Fever certificates (IHR 2005 compliance) Understanding of cold chain & vaccine storage. Stock management, quality patient care and customer service, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams Compile reports, analyse data, and maintain accurate nursing records. In-depth knowledge of life course vaccination. Knowledge of performance management and Labor relations processes Understanding of the principles of patient consent relating to vaccination, vaccine storage and the importance of the cold chain management. Administration of vaccination and dispensing of malaria prophylaxis under directions of the Yellow Fever license holder. An awareness of complex problems and the need to seek advice from other resources and/or the medical adviser/license holder. To demonstrate ability to integrate knowledge and skills acquired. Good organizing and planning skills. Demonstrate an in depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices and how these impact on Service delivery. Demonstrate a basic understanding of HR and financial policies. Demonstrate effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, supervisors, and other health professionals. Good reporting both verbal and written.

Duties :

  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical Nursing Practice and how these impacts on service delivery. Demonstrate effective knowledge of travel health, Travel Vaccines and Adult vaccination schedule , Provision of Yellow Fever Vaccine, issuing of valid Yellow Fever Certificates according to the International Health Regulation (IHR) 2005. Knowledge of Malaria Program and guidelines including malaria chemoprophylaxis and malaria program and understanding the malaria elimination strategy 2028. Management of cold chain and vaccine storage. Management of stock. Willing to learn from the supervisor and other health practitioners, Promote application of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. Perform nursing duties in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards. Collect and analyze relevant data and compile reports. Compile submissions to internal and external stakeholders and apply labor processes within the workplace.
