Requirements :

• Basic qualification accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice R425 / R683 (i.e. Diploma / Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse plus a post-basic nursing qualification in Nursing Education and Health Services Management registered with SANC. Current registration with the South African Nursing Council Understanding of Office of the Health Standards Compliance and Nursing Strategy. Good verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy and presentation skills. A minimum of 7 years’ appropriate / recognizable experience in Nursing, after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Experience in Nursing Education and functional in the Clinical Education Training Unit. Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Report writing skills. Interpersonal skills including conflict management and counselling.
Duties :

• Coordination of provision of effective training and research. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development. Plan and implement staff development programmes according to identified needs for all nurses and learners placed at the Health Establishment. Ensure formulation and availability of skills audit for all nursing staff, plan, implement and evaluate induction of all newly appointed and personnel post training with a new qualification. Establishment and implementation of programmes for clinical education training units (CETU) in the institution. Formulate guidelines and SOP for the functioning of the unit, ensure continued professional development and policy is always followed and adhered to. Participate in multidisciplinary committees within the institution, knowledge of legal framework underpinning the process of education and training, monitor quality patient care on continuous basis. Maintain professional growth, ethical standards and self-development, demonstrate basic computer literacy as a supporting tool to enhance service delivery, able to develop contacts, build and maintain a network of professional relations to enhance service delivery. Co-ordinate study leave application for basic nursing training. Perform all other duties that are delegated by the Supervisor or Manager. Coordinate Community Service Nurses placement, R171, 1497 and R635 Nursing Programme. Liase with GCON, Private NEI and Universities. Serve as Secretariat for CPD Implementation in the institution.
