Requirements :

  • Matric plus bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Risk Management/ Auditing or equivalent qualification as recognised by SAQA. 5 years relevant experience, at least 3 years at Junior Management (Assistant Director level) in Risk Management, Compliance, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and integrity management environment. A post-graduate qualification in risk management will be an added advantage. Valid driver’s license. Membership to the Institute of Risk Management South Africa or any relevant risk membership will be an added advantage. COMPETENCIES: Computer literacy, Knowledge of risk and disaster management practices. In-depth knowledge of Public Service prescripts. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work in a team. Planning and organizing skills. Independent and focused. Problem solving, decision making and innovation. Knowledge and understanding of Risk Management Competency Framework. Knowledge and application of Risk Management Standards, Risk Management methodology and Business Continuity Best Practice Guidelines

Duties :

  • Provide inputs for the development, implementation and monitoring and review of Risk Management policy. Manage, facilitate and advice on the risk management assessment process. Manage, monitor and review the identified risk response activities. Compile risk profile for the department. Develop and implement risk management, anti-fraud & corruption, and business continuity management, Ethics and Integrity management strategies, systems and policies. Develop the annual risk management implementation plan. Oversee the execution of the Business Continuity Management. Undertake studies and analysis for identifying risks to establish the internal and external organisation context. Manage, facilitate and advice on the risk management assessment process. Manage, monitor and review the identified risk response activities. Compile reports as required. Consolidate quarterly reports for tabling and presenting at the oversight committees [Risk Committee, Business Continuity Management Committee and Ethics Management Committee]. Secretariat services for Risk and BCM committee. Assist the Department with coordination of Internal and External audit. Track the Implementation of AG and Internal Audit GAS recommendations. Facilitate GAS and AGSA audits. Facilitate the institutionalisation of risk management. Ensure that risk management philosophy and culture is embedded in the organisation. Manage and undertake capacity development. Maintenance of discipline. Management of performance and development. Undertake Human Resource and other related administrative functions. Establish implement and maintain efficient and effective communication arrangements. Develop and manage the operational plan of the directorate and report on progress as required. Develop implement and maintain processes to ensure proper control of work. Compile and submit all required administrative reports that serve on transversal task teams as required.
