Requirements :

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Audiology, Speech Therapy, Audiology, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Social Worker, Dietician, Orthotist and Prosthetist or Occupational Therapy. A minimum of twelve (12) years appropriate experience after registration as independent practice with HPCSA of which seven (7) years must be on Assistant-Director level. A Management course and post graduate qualification in health will be an added advantage. Current registration with the HPCSA for 2024/2025.

Duties :

  • Provide strategic direction for Therapeutic services in the institution. Integrate Therapeutic services within priority Programmes. Develop/implement a strategic plan and operational plan for Therapeutic services. Develop, reviews and facilitate implementation of Therapeutic policy guidelines, protocols and SOP in line with the national and provincial health system. Ensure compliance with all legislative directives, guidelines and protocols with regards to Therapeutic clinical governance. Promote evidence-based practice and improve the skills of the Therapeutic workforce. Collaborate with academic and other relevant stakeholders. Coordination of placement of students and community service professionals. Strengthen governance, leadership and management capacity of Therapeutic managers. Implement mentorship programme to strengthen supervision and support of junior staff. Leads and direct quality management activities for Therapeutic services. Monitor and support Ideal Clinic/Hospital assessment Programme & Quality improvement initiatives. Utilize health information technology and other health information systems to manage Therapeutic services information. Monitoring and evaluation of Therapeutic services and implementation of research projects. Manage and utilize human resources in accordance with relevant directives and legislation. Foster a culture of improvement and development for the whole Therapeutic services workforce. To provide financial planning and management accounting. Effective management of NPO.

Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
