Requirements :

BChD / BDS Degree. Current registration with HPCSA as a Dentist. A minimum of 3 years of appropriate experience as a Dentist after registration with HPCSA as a Dentist. Extensive Managerial Experience is required with at least five years of managerial experience in the public health sector. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. Applicants must have a valid South African driver’s licence. COMPETENCIES: Strategic capabilities & leadership, Change management skills, Programme and Project management skills, Client Orientation and Customer Focus skills, Financial and Human Resource management skills. Good Communication Nonverbal and written. Skilled in Research, Policy development, data management, Knowledge management skills, Problem-Solving skills, and Risk management. ATTRIBUTES: Good Interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure. Relate well to a diversity of personnel and range of stakeholders. Applicants should be prepared to undergo technical assessment, pre-employment, and periodic medical surveillance as part of the employment conditions. Must be willing to travel extensively within the province and work after hours if required.
Duties :

Provide strategic direction for Oral Health Services in the 5 Health Districts and the 3 University Oral Health Centres in Gauteng Province. Oversee outreach Programmes from the Universities to the Health Districts including correctional facilities according to the SLA and liaise with the relevant private partners. Coordinate contracts for supply of consumables, equipment, and materials to the health districts. Oversee the management of Pretoria Dental Stores. Integrate Oral Health services within priority Programmes. Develop/implement a strategic plan and operational plan for Oral Health Services. Develop, facilitate, and monitor the implementation of Oral Health policy guidelines, protocols, and SOP in line with the national and provincial health system. Lead the development and implementation of the Oral Health Services Clinical Governance Framework. Coordination of placement of students and community service professionals. Leads and directs quality management activities for Oral Health services in the province. Monitor and support Ideal Hospital/Clinic Programme & Quality improvement initiatives. Utilize health information technology and other health information systems to transform Oral Health services in the province. Strengthen Oral Health public literacy and Health promotion in line with the department's objectives. Strengthen governance, leadership, and management capacity of Oral Health managers. Manage and utilize human resources in accordance with relevant directives and legislation. Ensure alignment of budget to demand procurement plans.
