Requirements :

• MBBCh appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner and proof of current registration. At least 6 months experience in psychiatry clinical services. Be able to register as a candidate for MMed Psychiatry at the University of Pretoria (UP) and FCpsych SA (Colleges of Medicine - SA) (CMSA).

Duties :

• The post is a 4- year joint-appointment as a registrar in psychiatry at the department of Psychiatry at the university of Pretoria (UP) and Weskoppies Hospital. The successful candidate must provide clinical services to Mental Health Care Users at Weskoppies Hospital and other clinical training platforms where applicable, participate in the department's academic programmes, research activities and clinical administrative work. Successful candidates will be expected to rotate through all the training units as per the HPCSA, CMSA, and the University of Pretoria's MMED psychiatry requirement, within the 4 years accounting to the executive management of Weskoppies Hospital and Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
