Requirements :

  • Grade 12 certificate or NQF level 4. Appropriate ECG qualification or prescribed in-service training (with duration of at least 2 years in ECG) that allows for the required registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA), where applicable in the relevant profession. No experience required after obtaining an appropriate qualification or prescribed in service training that allows for the required registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Knowledge and skills: Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Good written, verbal and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to handle information confidentially. Ability to work independently and in a team. Ability to organize and plan. Knowledge and application of the Batho Pele principles. Applicant should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance as an inherit job requirement. Added advantage: National Diploma in Clinical Technology Specialty Cardiology.

Duties :

  • Provide ECG service in the entire hospital (clinics and wards). Conduct ECG calibration checks, equipment maintenance and repairs requests when required. Report all faulty equipment to ECG Department team leader. Ensure that the infection control policy is adhered to when conducting an ECG. Ordering of ECG department disposable and non-disposable stock items. Compiling ECG statistics and submission to the team leader timeously. Assist with various administrative duties as outlined by the department team leader. Attend all meetings and training as approved by the team leader. Maintenance of a user-friendly office. Comply with the Performance Management & Development System requirements. Contribute to the development of the ECG department and ECG Assistant profession including participation in institutional workshop and ECG Development program.
