Requirements :

  • Four (4) year degree in Physiotherapy that allows registration with HPCSA as Physiotherapist. Current registration with HPCSA as Physiotherapist. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment. Ability to handle a large case load. Maintain ethical standards and proper record keeping. Ability to work under pressure and independently. Ability to render specialized physiotherapy services in a mother and child hospital. Grade 1: must have completed community service. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as Physiotherapist.

Duties :

  • Assessment and treatment of in- and outpatients. Manage effective record keeping, including patient records and administrative duties. Manage own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points. Assist with the running of clinics: Neurodevelopmental clinic and Neonatal follow-up. Plan and conduct group therapy: antenatal classes, kangaroo mother care, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. Provide expert advice on complicated clinical conditions and or assistive devices, coordinates student training, supervision and block assessments as Rahima Moosa Hospital is a teaching facility. Compile own and student statistics. Attend weekly multi-disciplinary meetings and ward rounds. Marketing of the Physiotherapy Profession. Participate in Performance Management and Development System (PMDS). Represent the department at the Physiotherapy and or Rehabilitation forum as per delegation. Participate in fundraising activities. Participate in Allied Quality Assurance Audits and National Core Standards/Ideal Hospital Framework Assessments.
