Requirements :

  • Appropriate qualification that allows for registration with the health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Physiotherapist. Registration with the HPCSA as an Independent Practitioner. Current registration with HPCSA. No experience required after completion of Community service in Physiotherapy as required in respect of RSA qualified employees. Must have knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulations and policies. knowledge in application of clinical Physiotherapy theory, practices and ethics. Communication skills, presentation skills, basic Physiotherapy clinical skills, planning & organizational skills, networking and liaison skills, report writing skills, research skills and analytical skills. The following will be added advantages: Experience in tertiary academic hospital, ICU experience, post graduate paediatrics course, Computer literacy, ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, effective interpersonal skill. Creativity and analytical skills.

Duties :

  • Render effective patient centered Physiotherapy services for in- and outpatients in adhering to the scope of practice and health protocols. Carry out delegated duties. Implement and adhere to National, Provincial, institutional and departmental policies, procedures regulations guidelines and SOP's. Perform weekend and public holiday duties in accordance with the departmental protocol. Participate in student training and supervision. Participate in performance and management development system (PMDS). Monitor proper utilization of allocated financial and physical resources. Participate in implementation and monitoring of quality assurance standards. Contribute and participate in professional development of self, colleague and members of interdisciplinary team. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
