Requirements :

  • Grade 12 Senior certificate or equivalent plus Degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist. Community service experience is required. Computer literacy is essential. Report writing skills and good communication skills. The candidate should be able to work independently and under pressure.

Duties :

  • Provide Occupational Therapy service to patients with various acute conditions. Execute optimal Occupational Therapy individual and group treatment for in and out-patients and MDT settings. Execute all patients and departmental-related administrative tasks including PMDS, data compilation, stock management, attending various internal and external meetings, and submission of monthly reports. Plan and prepare for all internal and external audits in the hospital. Participate in the training of community service therapists and students. Participate and implement the departmental policy on training and continuous professional development to ensure compliance with departmental standards and effective patient service delivery, in line with provincial and national standards. Basic, intermediate, or advanced Seating and NDT certificates will be an added advantage.
