Requirements :

  • Grade 12 with a Degree / Diploma (NQF 6) in Human Resource Management / Labour Relations / Public Management qualification or Bachelor of Law qualification. Five (5) years experience in the Labour Relations administration sphere of which three (3) years must be at a supervisory level. A valid Driver’s Licence. Experience in a unionized environment will be an added advantage. Knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, etc. Good communication skills (both verbal and report writing). The incumbent must have good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure, gather and analyze information and interpret reports. Computer Literacy.

Duties :

  • Assist in the monitoring of the implementation of the business plans. Align individual performance to the strategic objectives of the unit. Report on the strategic framework/plans in the area of functional responsibility. Monitor and ensure effective and efficient coordination of activities, assist in the development of the business plan in line with the strategic objectives of the department, and create, maintain, and monitor the existence of sound relationships between the Employer, Employees, unions, and other stakeholders. Monitor industrial actions (strikes/lockouts, picketing, and protest. An all-rounder in management of Labour Relations activities (Grievances handling, Misconduct handling, Dispute handling, and collective bargaining) Conduct training on labour relations matters, manage and, interpret and ensure correct implementation of labour relations strategies, policies, procedures, employment practices, collective agreements, and other labour relations practices. Formulate and manage the component’s budget against its strategic objectives.
