Requirements :

  • MBChB qualification. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Medical Practitioner. At least 3 current emergency related short courses (e.g. Life Support (ACLS), Paediatrics Advance Life Support (PALS), Advanced Trauma Life Support, ECG course, etc) RECOMMENDATION: DipPEC, EMSSA basic Ultrasound course and credentialing. Six (6) months experience in Accident and Emergency.

Duties :

  • Clinical duties in Emergency Unit under the supervision on an emergency physician. This includes working hours, after hours and weekends. Clinical guidance of Emergency unit nurses, community service doctors and interns. Accompaniment and clinical guidance of medical students and clinical associates.
