Requirements :

  • National Diploma/ Degree in Diagnostic Radiography that allows registration with HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer, currently registered with HPCSA as an independent Radiographer. Current annual registration with HPCSA (2024/2025). Basic knowledge of public service acts, HR policies etc. Knowledge of quality assessment procedures and methods as per radiation control directorate. Skills on the following areas: Good patient care, organizing, communication, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships and knowledge of specialized procedures and radiology equipment.

Duties :

  • Provide high quality service while observing safe radiation protection standards. Utilize and maintain equipment professionally to ensure safety while adhearing to professional prescripts. Compile reports and statistics. Provide assistance and training of students and community service diagnostic radiographers. Perform administrative duties and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs and ideal hospital. Give information to patients on diagnostic radiography. Promote Batho-Pele principles in execution of all duties and effective service delivery. Ensure Health and safety rules and regulations are adheard to. Ensure effective training and supervision of the radiography services in accordance with the prescribed protocols. Provision, supervision and management of a 24 hours service delivery and partake on it. Prioritize the implementation of cost saving measures in accordance with PFMA. Ensure patient safety through incident reporting and internal professionals to ensure patient safety and fair treatment.

The information on the new Z83 must be in sync/correspond with the Curriculum Vitae. Only shortlisted candidates will be required/requested to submit certified copies of qualifications, service certificate and other relevant documents on or before the interview. Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification will be required to furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). HR will conduct Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) and Verification Checks. The Department reserve the right to conduct verification beyond information provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information mentioned above with the exception of HR verification checks, will result in the candidate being disqualify.
