Requirements :

  • Basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of Government Notice 425 (Degree or Diploma in Nursing). A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in general nursing plus a post-basic nursing qualification, with duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice No R 212 in the relevant speciality . A valid Driver's license and computer literacy are essential requisites. A post graduate qualification of a minimum duration of one year in Nursing Administration or Nursing Management or Health Care services management, recognisable with SAQA will be an added advantage.

Duties :

  • Demonstrate knowledge of legislation relevant to health care services. Management of the facility by providing comprehensive Primary Health Care services to the communities. Render and supervise 24-hour services in a CHC setting. Ensure that nursing services, including maternal &child services are rendered according to the set norms and standards. Ensure implementation of departmental policies including Batho Pele Principles and Patients' Rights Charter. Participate in implementation of prescripts of Ideal Clinic, OHSC, Occupational Health and Safety as well as Infection Prevention & Control. Manage Complaints/Compliments and Suggestions and Patient Safety Incidents according to guidelines. Implementation and monitoring of Health Care Waste compliance. Participation and implementation of quality improvement plans. Be competent in managing resources, including human resources, finances, drugs and essential tools of trade. Provide informed and guided administrative support to the CHC Manager.
