Grade 12 or equivalent. Basic R425 qualification (diploma/ degree in general nursing) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Current registration with SANC for 2026. A minimum of 7 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Post basic nursing qualification of the duration of 1 year, accredited with SANC in Occupational Health Nursing Science. At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate / recognizable experience in Occupational Health Nursing after obtaining the 1-year post-basic nursing qualification . Must have knowledge of the public Service Act and Regulations, EHWP Strategic Framework, the Employment Equity Act, OHS Act and policies as well as PILIR Policy and Guidelines.
Skills: Sound organizing, planning, presentation and facilitation skills. Counselling, decision-making, good Communication, crisis and trauma management. Good interpersonal relations ,conflict resolution and leadership skills.
Duties :

: Provide operational and effective management of the integrated Employee Health and safety Program, implementation of the Public Service framework pillars. Provide confidential assessments, counselling and follow-up referrals. Identify and maintain relationships with all relevant, stakeholders for effective implementation of the programmed. Provide on site critical incident stress debriefing following traumatic incidents. Identify manage and implement life management of service of lifestyle development interventions. Develop and implement OHS and the Employee Health and Wellness Marketing and promotion strategy. Identify departmental health risk trends and implement effective health and safety Programs to enhance the health and wellness of the employees that will promote, protect and restore employee’s health within a safe working environment. Preform medical surveillance (which may include clinical examinations, biological monitoring and medical tests. Management of occupational injuries , and diseases, like TB, HIV etc . Report for safety committee. Inspect facilities, observes operations and activities and investigate health and safety risks and complaints. Ensure that OHS committee meets monthly and compile reports as required.
