Requirements :

• Qualification that allows registration with SANC as Staff Nurse. Current registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse. Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes and other relevant legal principles. Basic communication skills, elementary writing skills, ability to function as part of a team and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and Patients’ Rights Charter. Must be prepared to work shifts including night duty, weekends, and public holidays.

Duties :

• Execute nursing care plans for patients. Monitor vital signs and Observe reactions to medication and treatments. Promote and Maintain hygiene, comfort and re-assurance of patients administration of oral medication and carry out other procedures according to scope of practice. Supervise fluid intake, maintain fluid balance, oxygen and sensory needs. Promote healing of wounds, fractures, and protection of the skin. Plan for patients care in accordance with the needs of the patient. Good report writing following the nursing process. Prepare and assist with diagnostic and clinical procedures performed by a medical practitioner or a professional nurse. Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure good nursing care. Work effectively, cooperatively, amicably with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences. Display a concern for patients, promoting and advocating basic care including awareness and willingness to respond to patient’s needs, requirements, and expectations. Knowledge of Batho Pele principles, Nursing Values and 6 Ministerial Priorities and management of patient’s safety incidence (PSI)
