Requirements :

Grade 12/ Matric or equivalent qualification. Basic qualification in terms of Government Notice 425 i.e. Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. Minimum of seven (7) years of recognised experience in general nursing after registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. A Diploma in Midwifery, a Diploma/degree in health service management will be an added advantage. Computer literacy. Effective communication skills. Knowledge of legal prescripts that regulate nursing, the nursing care process and SOPs, and health service knowledge. Knowledge of Nursing strategy, Ideal Hospital Realization all relevant Frameworks such as Nursing Act, OHS, Labour Act, and Disciplinary code, Grievance Procedure and all the legislations that will guide management. Skills including leadership/managerial, Planning, Organising Co-ordinating, Communication, Problem-solving, decision-making skills, portraying professionalism and accuracy, & co-operation and accuracy.
Duties :

Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of nursing legislation, ethical nursing practice, and how this will impact service delivery. Provision of holistic quality patient care and compliance with the Ideal Hospital Framework and the implementation thereof. Participate in the development of SOPs in the institution. Effective and efficient utilization and management of resources. Compliance in CPD implementation and training for professional growth. Participate in committees as delegated and ensure a healthy relationship with external and internal stakeholders. Management and supervision to ensure 24-hour service delivery. Promote patient advocacy. Ability to take charge and make appropriate decisions within the limits of institutional policy and legal framework. Ensure compliance with ethical standards.
