Requirements :

  • Grade 10-12 or equivalent NQF level 3-5, gardening or farming experience will be advantageous. Knowledge of farming and the use of gardening equipment, chemicals and tools. And possess physical strength and endurance to meet strenuous demands of the position. Must be reliable, punctual and honest. 1-year exposure in a hospital environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Awareness of Batho-Pele principles. Be willing to work in a team and under pressure.

Duties :

  • Digging and weeding of the garden and removal of dead wood. Mowing of lawns using lawnmowers and trimming machines. Apply fertilisers and water the garden. Clean premises by removing litter and emptying refuse containers. Wash and disinfect garbage storage areas. Assist with moving and delivery of equipment and furniture, sweeping and washing of roads and paved areas. Carry out pest control functions on the premises and in the hospital facilities. Adhere to any instruction issued by an officer. Check and report on the service of the machinery and equipment.
