Requirements :

• Grade 12 Senior certificate or equivalent .Basic R 425 qualification, i.e., Diploma / Degree in nursing that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse. Basic Midwifery Diploma qualification. Proof of current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse and Midwife. Accreditation to practice as CTOP (Choice of Termination of Pregnancy) Practitioner. Years of experience in CTOP practice will be an added advantage.

Duties :

• Provision of optimal, holistic nursing care with set standards and within professional/ legal framework adhering to Gynaecology/ Perinatal Practice Guidelines including CTOP (Choice of termination of pregnancy). Provision of immediate Reproductive Health services/ family planning and management of sexually transmitted diseases. Ensure compliance with Infection control principles and waste management guidelines including handling and disposal of Human Tissue. Ability to work under pressure independently and within a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to apply good counselling skills, maintain patient’s confidentiality, respect and dignity. Effective utilization of material and human resources including supervision of junior staff and managing PMDS. Maintain professional growth and ethical standards. Perform other nursing duties as delegated by supervisor related to Job description within the department. Implement measures to ensure patient’s safety, contribute in effective management of patient safety incident processes and ensure compliance with Ideal Hospital Realization Framework
